National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Annual Conference

Judy Shanley will attend the NCIL Annual Conference 2012 on June 11-14, 2012 in Washington, D.C. She will also be co-presenting with Kathy Hatch during a workshop on “The Mobility Management Independent Living Program: Strategies to Improve Transportation Planning Services" on Thursday, June 14, from 10:30 am - 11:45 am.
The focus of the workshop is to ensure that individuals with disabilities have choices in independent living, and reliable transportation options must be available. For this purpose, Easter Seals Project Action (ESPA), funded by the Federal Transit Administration, launched the Mobility Management Independent Living (MMIL) Program, a partnership with APRIL and NCIL, as a way to build community-infrastructures around accessible coordinated transportation. In this interactive panel by ESPA and its partners, including CIL staff serving as MMIL Liaisons, attendees will acquire strategies related to building relationships, establishing infrastructures, and disseminating tools.
