Easter Seals Project ACTION Supports Livable Communities
Easter Seals Project ACTION (ESPA) supports livable communities and the six livability principles of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) interagency Partnership for

Sustainable Communities by offering training, technical assistance, research, and information on ways to make the paths to public transportation more accessible. Livable communities and accessible transportation allow people with disabilities, older adults, and people with limited incomes to live independently, to secure employment, and to become active members of the community.
The six livability principles are:
- Provide more transportation choices.
- Promote equitable, affordable housing.
- Enhance economic competitiveness.
- Support existing communities.
- Coordinate policies and leverage investment.
- Value communities and neighborhoods.
